Principles of the St. Petersburg Phonological School in Speech Corpora Design

ABSTRACT The paper discusses the main principles in designing and annotating speech corpora within framework of Saint Petersburg phonological school, provides examples using corpus data phonetic research. One major that we follow is to analyse material at all levels: from segmental intonational, including disfluencies. During annotation, suggest listening each sound isolation (without knowing its context) relying on spectrographic data.
